One of the great things about photography as a hobby is that it can let you see the world in a different way. Looking through a lens and thinking about the composition of a shot can sometimes give you a new perspective on even the most mundane of subjects.
Recently, I did a little exercise in which I went out in my yard looking to shoot light and shadow rather than just specific objects. I noticed a tree stump that was ‘striped’ by bright sunlight through a wooden fence. The sun stripes almost look painted on!
